Hello! The apples are getting very ready, so we are shifting the harvest day to Sunday, September 23rd from 10am-2pm.

***Note the date change, previously this was taking place on Sept 29th and Oct 13th. Now it’s all in one day!****

Come on out to help harvest the apples, press juice, and take home apples in apple and juice form! If you can, bring bags to take home apples, and jars to take home juice.

Picking and Pressing : 10am-1pm
Potluck (bring your own dish and cutlery): 1-2pm

The weather’s getting cooler but we’re back this Saturday with fresh produce!

This week another order of veggies from Fresh Roots Urban Farm!  Every week throughout the summer we will be getting hyper local, organic veggies grown on school sites throughout Vancouver.

Here’s what to expect at the market:

Come on down to this Saturday’s mobile market locations to stock up on fresh fruits and veggies! We will be at Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House from 10:00am to 11:00 am, Kensington Community Centre from 1:00pm to 2:00pm and Brant Villa at 3:00pm to 4:00pm. Copley Orchard Work Party and Medicinal Plant Walk

40685146_1826389274083190_43470162866733056_oThis event takes place on unceded and occupied Coast Salish territory, specifically that of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), and mi ce:p kʷətxʷiləm (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

As a part of this months Copley Orchard work party, Cedar Cottage Food Network will facilitate a workshop on Wild edible and medicinal plants in the garden and together we will lasagna mulch a bed to prepare for planting a native plant garden next spring.

—> Prior to this workshop (10am – 11:30am) there will be a work party for Copley Orchard which everyone is welcome to attend. Come learn what the orchard it all about and meet some wonderful gardening neighbours! There will be a potluck lunch beginning at 1pm for all orchard members and workshop participants.
