Interested in seed security in your community? Want to learn how to save seeds and join in a growing community of people wanting to share their knowledge, their passions, and their seeds? The Cedar Cottage Food Network, in partnership with the Vancouver Public Library – Kensington branch has teamed up for the second season of our seed saving group in Cedar Cottage.
Join us for our first meet-up of the season as we plant our seed crops at Kingscrest Community Garden. We will discuss the why’s and how’s of saving seeds, and learn about soil and the basics of planting. This will also function as an ongoing seed swap so bring your extra seeds and seedlings to share with the community.
No previous experience needed, and no garden needed! See our facebook event here
Location Note: We will meet at Kensington Library, but will be spending most of our time at Kingscrest Community Garden. Come prepared to do some weeding and planting and please dress for the weather.
This is a monthly series, stay tuned for info on these upcoming meet-ups. All will be at Kensington Library from 11am-1pm:
