Market Veggies for February 28th

To kick off the Lunar New Year the Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House will be hosting a special event, so make sure to get to the market early to grab your veggies!

From 10:00am-12:00pm, we’ll be at Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House (Victoria Dr. and 24th ave.) and from 2-4pm, we’ll be at South Van Neighbourhood House (Victoria Dr. and 49th ave.). Don’t forget to sample some of the delicious recipes at South Van’s tasting kitchen. It is week 2 of celebrating the Daikon radish, a traditional veggie for many lunar New Year festivities. This week one of our lovely board members, Janet, has provided us with her recipe for Daikon cake, which will be available for tasting in our tasting kitchen at Orchard Park from 2pm to 4pm.

To help our mobile market shoppers prepare for the Lunar New Year we will be featuring one very special veggie for the entire month: The Daikon Radish, which will be available at each of our locations.
