Brrrrr it’s cold out there. I placed the food order for this week’s market with slippers on my feet and chapped lips sipping on a cup of tea. Thankfully it is also beautiful out and a little cold is by no means stopping the mobile markets! With the dimming lights in the northern hemisphere it’s getting tougher to find locally grown veggies, but our urban farm partner, Fresh Roots, is still supplying us with food. Through the winter, our mandate of providing the most local and most organic as possible still stands. Here is what to expect this week:
-
Spartan Apples (BC)
-
Avocados (Mexico)
-
Bananas (S. America and Organic)
-
Kiwi (California)
-
Mangoes (Ecuador)
-
Navel Oranges (California)
-
Red Bartlett Pears (Washington)
-
Beets (BC)
-
Broccoli (California)
-
Cauliflower (California)
-
Red Onions (Washington)
-
Butternut Squash (BC)
-
Yams(California)
We will be at Brant Villa from 10:30 to 12:30 and Kensington Community Center from 2:00 to 4:00. Hope to see you there!
