We’re excited to announce our newest Mobile Produce Market location: Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House. The first trial market will take place on May 11th from 10am-12pm at 4065 Victoria Drive.
Besides offering programs, workshops, and resources to the community, Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House cares a great deal about food security. They cook communal meals in their kitchen on site and their staff and volunteers recently built planter boxes for a vegetable garden. The Neighbourhood House is also holding their 20th annual Community Carnival on May 26th so be sure to stop by for a cake walk, silent auction, games and entertainment, flea market, and, of course, food!
Our Workshops page has been updated! Learn more about fermentation and raw foods and how to integrate them into your diet.
Join us this Saturday for another mobile produce market and Tasting Kitchen at Orchard Park. We’ll be selling the following fresh fruits and vegetables:
Gala apples (locally grown)
Red peppers (locally grown)
Bunches of spinach (great for gomae salad)
Tangelos (a cross between a grapefruit and a tangerine)
Potatoes (grown in Washington state)
Red onions (grown in Washington state)
Did you know that onions, carrots, and celery are the base of many delicious meals? With a 2:1:1 ratio, these veggies make mirepoix, which flavours soups, stocks, and sauces. Learn more tips and tricks at our kitchen this weekend.
See you there!
